JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible to review and analyze all merchandise to ensure fulfillment to distribution centers. Review assigned and more complex vendors to ensure correct forecasting, order placement and all terms and agreements are enforced and followed. Manage higher variability in demand and seasonal lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage complex import vendors with high lead times and high forecasting horizons.
  • Determine appropriate product quantities to purchase while keeping inventory replenishment at sufficient levels.
  • Negotiate special buying agreements to get additional discounts to increase profit margin.
  • Maintain low levels of excess inventory through regular review of stock levels and forecast. Work with Marketing and Merchandising and recommend disposition of discontinued and slow moving products.
  • Contact for Customer Service to provide detailed information on products, status of product availability for backorders, and to suggest substitutions.
  • Form and maintain favorable relationships with vendors and sales to maximize profitability.
  • Proactively study merchant sales plans and evaluate sales history to develop inventory forecasts.
  • Monitor and adjust E3 system exceptions regularly and reviews system-generated suggested order quantities and re-projects buys (add value to the info generated from the system in a proactive manner).
  • Negotiate profit margin with volume buying from our suppliers.
  • Meet with vendors to stay informed of product specifications and to obtain information on discontinued items.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 4 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. E3 Level 4 certification required.

TRAVEL/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Travel typically less than 10%.
  • Office environment. No special physical demands required.
KNOWLEDGE:

Advanced intermediate level professional role. Good judgment and sound analytical ability required to perform tasks. Know and apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular field. Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of routine and complex issues

JOB COMPLEXITY:

Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Demonstrate good judgment within defined procedures and practices for obtaining solutions. Build productive internal/external working relationships.

SUPERVISION:

Normally receive little instruction on day-to-day work, general instruction on new assignments. Assignments can be broad in nature.

Typically, to advance to a new grade, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.
