Hiring Range: $118,020 - $121,520

UMass Memorial Health and the UMass Chan Medical School Department of Psychiatry are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for our Community Healthlink (CHL) Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) located in Worcester, Massachusetts.

This leadership opportunity supports a key initiative within Massachusetts' behavioral health transformation and offers the chance to shape high-quality, equitable, community-based psychiatric care.

About the CBHC Program

The Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) program is part of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services' Behavioral Health Roadmap, with the goal of diverting individuals from hospital emergency departments and connecting them to timely, appropriate behavioral health services. The CBHC model is designed to deliver more efficient, effective, and equitable care for individuals across the lifespan.

Position Overview

The Medical Director provides overall clinical and medical oversight and ensures the quality and safety of care across all CBHC services at Community Healthlink. This role includes leadership responsibility for clinical standards, medical policies, and supervision of all medical services and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and medical oversight for all CBHC services
  • Establish, implement, and maintain medical policies, protocols, and standards of care
  • Supervise and support all medical services provided by CBHC clinical staff
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and patient safety
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership to advance program development and system integration
  • Support CBHC goals aligned with the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Roadmap

About the Department of Psychiatry

The UMass Chan Medical School Department of Psychiatry is a national leader in addiction psychiatry, biological psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, public sector psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, psychosocial rehabilitation, and women's mental health.

The Department integrates clinical care, research, education, and community partnerships to support recovery from mental illness and addiction. It is the largest provider of psychiatric services in Central Massachusetts, with more than 400 faculty members across 12 hospitals and community mental health centers throughout the state.

Qualifications

Eligible individuals must meet the following qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
