Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883 certification may be required within 30 days of hire.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Position Summary

The Senior Quality Specialist I supports quality assurance activities in an AS9100-certified manufacturing machine shop environment. This role focuses on driving corrective actions, supporting MRB and RCCA activities, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative technician who thrives on solving complex quality challenges and championing relentless improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support compliance with AS9100 and internal quality management system requirements
  • Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits and support corrective action closure
  • Review and support quality documentation including inspection records, data packs, work instructions, and procedures
  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations using structured problem-solving methods (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Write, implement, and verify effectiveness of Corrective Action Reports (CARs)
  • Analyze nonconformance data and quality trends to support preventive actions
  • Write and submit non-conformances to customers, drive timely resolution
  • Participate in MRB activities and support nonconforming material disposition
  • Support RMA investigations, documentation, and corrective action responses
  • Track MRB and RMA metrics and assist with timely closure
  • Apply Lean principles to reduce waste, improve process consistency, and support quality improvements
  • Participate in Kaizen events, 5S initiatives, and continuous improvement projects
  • Support efforts to improve first-pass yield and reduce cost of poor quality
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve quality issues on the shop floor
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102
  • Assist with risk identification related to manufacturing processes and changes
  • Special Process Evaluations / Approvals: Familiarize yourself with the requirements of Heat Treat, Chem Film, Passivation, Penetrant, etc

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AS9100 standards
  • Experience in an aerospace or precision machine shop environment
  • Lean certification (Green Belt or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements
  • Experience supporting customer audits and quality issues
  • Ability to use causal analysis and root cause analysis tools to investigate and resolve technical and process issues
  • Ability to deep-dive / investigate nonconformance issues and develop sustained correctiveaction plans

Target salary range: USD $70,168.00/Yr. - USD $77,843.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
