MUST:


Experienced Accounting Supervisor

5 years accounting experience

5 years of experience in a Government Contracting organization

5 years of experience with JAMIS, CostPoint or a similar government accounting system

3 years of supervisory experience

Experience with financial statement and DCAA audits

General knowledge of GAAP and Government Cost Accounting Standards

Intermediate level of excel knowledge

Ability to work independently

Bachelor's in accounting or finance

DUTIES:

Supervises the accounting department, staff accountants and specialists and monitors the daily performance of the accounting department.

Trains staff on day-to-day general accounting functions, to include payroll, AP, AR, and cash.

Reviews and approves vouchers, billings, and payroll ensuring accuracy.

Ensure all expenses have been accurately captured in the month and all revenue and bills are properly generated and posted.


Supervises, mentors, and trains staff accountants and specialists, providing guidance on day-to-day accounting transactions.

Oversees timesheet and labor distribution and approve semi-monthly payroll.

Reviews and approvals all AP and expense vouchers ensuring the proper posting to the GL

Reviews and approves customer invoices, validating against billing spreadsheets.

Approves cash receipts, ensuring proper posting to customer invoices.

Validates all expenses are accounted for and classified property in the system at the end of each month.

Reviews and approves customer invoices and validates current and cumulative amounts in the billing spreadsheets.

Retrieves daily bank transactions, prepares the daily banking spreadsheet, and updates 45-day cash flow weekly.

Enters monthly journal entries and performs general ledger reconciliations.

Assists with audit deliverables and ensures subordinate staff meets audit deliverable deadlines.

Approves EFT, Wires, ACH and positive pay in the bank.

Responsible for tax submissions and the payment of taxes.

Responsible for state filing compliance and corporate business registrations.

Manages rent, copier, and vehicle leases and accompanying schedules.

Manages conference call and shipping accounts.

Approves funding de-obligation requests.

Responsible for processing credit card requests and terminations.

Performs monthly bank reconciliation.

Manages WAWF system and approves new roles.
