This position will be onsite in Bethesda, MD.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Technician - Cutover Support Specialist to coordinate and execute site surveys, site preparations, system installations, system cutovers, and legacy system decommissioning in collaboration with our customers. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities to ensure seamless transitions from legacy systems to next-generation technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

    Coordinate and execute site surveys, system installations, and cutover activities for NEXCOM and ACLS equipment.

  • Manage installation and successful cutover from legacy equipment to Indra V3 radios and O9500 Fiber Termination Equipment.

  • Perform independent testing to validate power and cabling installations, ensuring compliance with equipment and site specifications.

  • Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of telecommunications and IT systems.

  • Provide technical problem-solving, support, and training to customers and team members.

  • Document work, generate service reports, and maintain accurate records.

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company policies.

  • Collaborate effectively with other technicians, departments, and stakeholders to optimize workflow and project outcomes.

  • Maintain strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D., 16 years in lieu of degree
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a public trust clearance
  • Extensive experience with telecommunications, IT, or related systems.

  • Proven experience in equipment installation, system cutover, and legacy system decommissioning.

  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with Indra V3 radios, NEXCOM, ACLS, or O9500 Fiber Termination Equipment preferred.

  • Ability to independently validate installations and ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Excellent customer service, collaboration, and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols.

Education & Experience:

  • Senior-level field technician experience (minimum 3-5 years preferred).

  • Technical certifications related to telecommunications, IT, or electronics are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Field-based role requiring travel to customer sites.

  • Hands-on work with telecommunications and IT equipment.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
