About the Department: Enviromental Services (EVS) plays a critical role across the Duke University Medical Complex, supporting Duke University Hospital (DUH), the School of Medicine (SOM), and the School of Nursing (SON). Our teams work behind the scense- often on the front lines to ensure patient care environments are safe, clean, and welcoming for patients, visitors, students, faculty, and staff. Location: Duke University Hospital- Durham, North Carolina General shift availability: EVS operates 24/7 to support the needs of the medical complex. Positions are avaliable on: Day shift (7:00am-3:30pm) Evening shift (3:00pm-11:30pm) Night shift (11:00pm-7:30am) Job offers will be extended based on the current shift availabilty and operational needs. Roles we're hiring for: Utility Worker (UTW) Focused on maintaining patient care areas through high-quality cleaning, disinfection, and room turnover in accordance with hospital standards. Floor Finisher (FF) Specialized in floor care services including stripping, waxing, scrubbing, burshing, and maintaining hard and soft floor surfaces across the medical complex. Minimum Requirements: Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Work requires the ability to read, comprehend and follow oral and written instructions. Experience: Work requires at least one year of general housekeeping experience preferred or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
