Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating the oversight for all packing and shipping operations.


Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as the plant's communication clearing house between operations, quality, commercial and logistics departments.
  • Participates in plant overhaul outages
  • Generates computerized bills of lading and dray tickets for package, bulk trucks and rail shipments
  • Ensure that counter weights on machines are properly adjusted as needed.
  • Responsible for physical inventories of product and materials
  • Change, set up and adjust equipment as required by current operating procedures
  • Informs other members of the management and/or other appropriate personnel immediately when product quality issues arise.
  • Represents the company to employees of outside transportation companies and customers
  • Attends and participates in communication meetings and training classes
  • Trains other employees as needed
  • Collaborates with Maintenance Planner on all work to be done, utilizing the SAP notification system when necessary
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Applies Science or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Completion of MSHA Miner Training


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to physical perform the essential job functions for the position including inspection and operation of packing equipment, lifting of cement bags and pallets, etc.
  • Positive customer service attitude
  • Be able to work all hours and shifting including weekends and holidays


Working Conditions

  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location



Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to a significant degree
  • Heavy work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
  • Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning and/or pulling of controls.
