Job Description We are seeking a Data Center Cable Technician to install, route, terminate, and support lowvoltage cabling in a new construction environment. This role includes workstation outlet installation, cable routing, closet builds, and firestopping procedures. Candidates must be able to work safely, follow project specifications, and assist with completing structured cabling installations as buildings are brought online. What You'll Do * Install workarea outlets for floor monuments, modular furniture, and wall locations * Drop cable down walls using fish tape or similar methods * Route cable through modular furniture and perform pretermination procedures * Organize, dress, label, and prepare cables for termination * Suspend and support cable using tray, Jhooks, Drings, trapeze, and similar supports * Build telecom closets: install backboards, racks, patch panels, crossconnects, and hardware * Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling * Perform firestopping procedures, install sleeves, and pull cable through penetrations * Terminate lowvoltage devices and follow all required safety procedures What You Bring * Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor construction environments * Selfmotivated, professional, and able to support process improvements * Ability to interpret or learn to interpret blueprints and project documents * Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs * Ability to distinguish cable color codes, read small print, and identify audible signals * Willingness to travel within the branch or regional territory as needed Nice to Have * Experience with structured cabling installation in new construction * Understanding of quality standards and telecom specifications Why Apply? * Long-term opportunity with a nationally recognized organization * Ongoing work supporting the Big Cedar site in Cedar Rapids as new buildings are completed Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
