Experienced claims professionals supporting The General's nonstandard auto business through investigations, liability decisions, and settlement negotiations

This role will be filled following our hybrid work model at our Goldsboro, NC; Tampa, FL; El Paso, TX; Nashville, TN; Davenport, IA; Madison, WI; or Stevens Point, WI offices. This role isNOTavailable for remote work.

In this role, you'll investigate and resolve insurance claims with a focus on efficiency and accuracy. You'll independently manage a caseload, negotiate settlements, and communicate effectively with policyholders, vendors, and other stakeholders. You'll leverage your analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to determine liability and ensure fair claim resolutions. This role is responsible for handling minor to moderate coverage, negligence, and damage issues.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Claims Representative-Liability,you will have the opportunity to grow on your already established claims foundation by conducting the following duties:

  • Support customers with empathy and understanding,assistingthem throughdifficult situationsand effectively communicating the claims process, the ongoing claim status, and decisions, including the reasoning behind them.
  • Verify coverage and reasonable payments by thoroughly reviewing the policy, reviewing accident details, and other pertinent information related to the claim.
  • Investigative claims by taking and reviewing recorded statements from involved parties and witnesses, reviewing policy reports and other pertinent evidence
  • Apply knowledge to evaluateclaimsexposure appropriately,establishingtimelyreserves.
  • Comply withindustry regulations, legal requirements, and internal company policies through thorough documentation of all decisions, correspondence, and discussions that occur throughout the life cycle of the claim.

What it Takes

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to obtain andmaintainstate specific property and casualty claims licensing asrequired
  • Previousexperience working with Auto Liability Claims strongly preferred
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of each phase of the claim handling process, or other equivalent knowledge.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualtycoverages, orotherequivalent knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims, or other equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories, or other equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
