Warranty & Inventory Specialist works directly with the Warranty Administrator, manufacturers, and distributor representatives to submit and process warranty claims for all location's assets. Will be involved in most aspects of the Corporate Parts Department including but not limited to, new material set up, pricing updates, updates to purchase info records, random audits, and year end inventory. Will be responsible in the accumulation and assembly of information required to produce reports needed for the month end reporting.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Responsible for all phases of warranty including claim creation, submission, check/credit reconciliation and month end reporting for all district assets
  • Return parts to vendors that have been sent in via inter-company from other Rumpke locations for warranty consideration
  • Communicate recall information to necessary parties in a timely manner
  • Assist in managing material master in SAP application including but not limited to, material creation, purchase info record creation and changes, cleanup projects, and internal user support
  • Perform random inventories and cycle counts as required
  • Provide internal customer support including but not limited to warranty, inventory, invoicing issues, credits, price change updates and parts room assistance
  • Pick up and deliver parts from internal locations and external vendors
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties in the warehouse and work area
  • Assist with slow moving inventory for all locations
  • Provide back up for Driver(s) and other Department team members as needed
  • Return parts and cores according to policy and procedure and track credits
  • Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position will not manage employees



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated; capable of working independently
  • Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and be flexible and cooperative
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers



Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • Basic knowledge of vehicle parts, maintenance, and repair
  • General knowledge of office functions
  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience in waste industry, vehicle parts or equipment supply required
  • Must be able to operate a Forklift and obtain certification within 90 days in this position
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, and Microsoft applications; Outlook, Teams, and SAP experience is a plus



Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:



  • Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50 lbs
  • Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs
  • Frequently working outside, in wet/humid conditions
  • Continuously working in changing temperatures
  • Frequently working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
  • Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
  • Rarely climbing and/or balancing
  • Continuously sitting/standing
  • Frequently walking



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
