Job Summary

The Web Content Strategist is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining high-quality, usercentered digital content across the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) web properties, under the direction of the college's Director of Marketing and PR. This role conducts interviews, gathers requirements, researches and analyzes data, and uses findings to create effective, accessible content strategies for new and existing websites. The web strategist ensures editorial accuracy, consistency, and
compliance with institutional standards while keeping projects on track and within scope. Partners closely with stakeholders to optimize content, enhance user experience, and support the College and University's digital presence and brand.

  • Gathers, researches, and analyzes data through content inventories, site audits, competitive assessments, user testing, stakeholder interviews, and web metrics to develop content strategies for the College of Engineering & Computing (CEC) websites.
  • Develops clear, user-friendly, accessible online content for College's digital presence, ensuring alignment with UX best practices, Section 508/ADA compliance, W3C standards, and institutional guidelines.
  • Maintains editorial standards, accuracy, tone, and quality of all content across college websites.
  • Influences and collaborates with stakeholders translating business, user, and technical needs into actionable content plans.
  • Assesses, reviews, and approves digital content to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to templates, style guides, information architecture standards, and brand messaging.
  • Measures and monitors content quality and performance; develops and promotes best practices, templates, guides, and other web-related deliverables.
  • Serves as the voice of the user incorporating user input, research findings, and testing results into content recommendations.
  • Works closely with designers, business analysts, and developers to define content requirements for proposed and existing pages, components, and templates.
  • Participates in and supports user testing sessions; presents findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams and senior-level clients.
  • Recommends improvements to content processes, tools, and technologies to enhance CEC's digital communication and site management capabilities.
  • Keeps projects on track and on budget; handles multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
  • May supervise and provide functional direction to support staff and/or student employees in support of web content and online digital initiatives, as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of work experience in digital design/publication agency environments as content strategist, copywriter, or an editorial related field.
