The impact you'll make
Lam Research is seeking an experienced Spare Parts Planning Analyst focused on New Product Introduction (NPI). This critical role ensures spare parts are accurately identified, strategically planned, and available in alignment with product launch timelines. As a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, such as product teams, supply chain, and regional service operations, the analyst drives cross-functional collaboration and ensures spares inventory readiness to support seamless product introductions and enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will also manage part transitions to minimize disruptions and maintain service continuity.
What you'll do
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align spare parts requirements for new product introductions and part transitions.
  • Develop and implement initial stocking strategies for spare parts across global warehouses and regional service depots.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure availability of parts to support product launches.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize part availability while maintaining cost efficiency and minimizing excess.
  • Represent spare parts planning in cross-functional meetings, ensuring alignment with broader product and service objectives.
  • Analyze historical usage and regional demand data to forecast spare parts needs, proactively adjusting plans to mitigate risk of shortages, excess, or obsolescence.
  • Perform data analysis using SQL and Power BI, delivering insights through dashboards and reports, and providing ad-hoc analysis to support functional stakeholders as needed.
Who we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering, with 8 years of related experience; or 6 years with a Master's degree, 3 years with a Ph.D.; or equivalent years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, preferably within spare/service parts or NPI environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP and other supply chain planning tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of bill of materials (BOM) structures, product lifecycle management, and inventory control practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across global, matrixed, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience supporting product launches in manufacturing or high-tech industries.
  • Strong understanding of service operations and inventory optimization strategies.
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects and shifting priorities in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Proficient in database and data warehouse technologies (Azure Synapse, SQL Server, SAP HANA), data analysis, data profiling, and visualization tools (Power BI).
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvement and operational efficiency.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: Min $92,000 - Max $211,000.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
