What will you do? The role will support the Software vertical as part of the Investment Banking Technology team at RBC Capital Markets in San Francisco.
- Transaction execution, new business presentations and meetings, and includes developing client relationships, developing business opportunities and other such duties
- Lead quantitative analyses including DCF, LBO, comparable multiples, M&A combination analysis, and credit analysis to support client coverage and investor presentations
- Monitor software sector transactions, market activity, company financial statements, industry trends, regulatory developments, and economic conditions to identify key insights
- Work with Associates and Analysts in development of pitch books and related client materials
- Coordinating with Industry, Product and other groups to evaluate and originate new business ideas / opportunities
- Building RBC's presence in the above referenced area and/or assist with other areas as directed by the Firm
- Other such duties, responsibilities and authority as may be reasonably required, consistent with the purposes for which you are being hired and your background, experience and prior business activity
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor's degree and top-tier MBA, MA, or MS (or equivalent advanced degree); minimum 5 years of Investment Banking experience
- Solid understanding of capital markets and spreadsheet modeling
- Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting
- Demonstrated senior presence and interpersonal maturity, with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests
- Proficiency with personal computers and standard productivity applications
- Ability to take initiative and function independently balanced with strong teaming skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
- Maintains high standards of professional and ethical conduct, demonstrates ability to represent RBC in community and industry activities
- Holds Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79 and Series 63 licenses

The expected salary for this particular position is $275,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
