Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the providers, the LPN Lead is responsible and accountable for carrying out assigned duties. The LPN Lead is Responsible for providing direct patient care, assisting the providers in the delivery of world-class medical care, and for being a leader to other clinical staff members. Nursing practice must be within current standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the center.

  • Contributes to the assessment of patient's health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data. Timely, consistently, and accurately documents all patient interactions.
  • Ensures development, implementation and evaluation of the plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, including providing education to the appropriate persons and communicating patient statuses in an accurate and concise manner.
  • Works effectively with providers and patients to schedule surgeries, imaging, lab, etc. Completes pre-authorization for all procedures or testing to ensure effective reimbursement.
  • Addresses incoming concerns from patient or outside provider with same-day follow-up by scheduling office visit, advising to report to emergency department, reviewing with provider, etc. Communicates and interacts with all customers (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians) in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Demonstrates efficiency and dependability with assigned job responsibilities and cross-trains, as appropriate, to assist other staff members in their job duties.
  • Assists the Practice Manager with the development and mentorship of qualified clinical staff.
  • Prioritizes patient care to best meet the individual needs of the patients and their referring providers. Act as a resource for all staff members for scheduling and patient care questions.
  • Participates in cost containment efforts by evaluating and monitoring the utilization of equipment and supplies, and also order supplies as needed.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a LPN in the State of Idaho
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • 2+ years experience as an LPN
