The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Apparel Designer to join our Global Energy team for a critical Fall 2027 season kickoff project. You'll collaborate with our design team to reimagine past seasonal collections, infusing them with fresh creative perspectives while maintaining the authentic Energy aesthetic. This role demands someone who can balance respect for existing design foundations with bold, innovative thinking that pushes lifestyle sports apparel forward.

What You'll Do

Design Execution & Development



  • Execute against a defined creative vision for brand collaborations, partnerships, and seasonal concepts, translating direction into compelling apparel product designs
  • Lead design revisions on past seasonal works, bringing contemporary innovation while honoring original design intent
  • Drive design development from early concepting through refinement, prototyping, and final execution
  • Create comprehensive tech packs for manufacturer collaboration, ensuring technical accuracy and design integrity
  • Develop cut-and-sew patterns that balance aesthetic vision with production feasibility


Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Partner closely with Directors and Expert-level designers to push ideas further and elevate concepts
  • Collaborate with Product Design, Development, Merchandising, Marketing, Graphic Designers, Material/Trim Development, Technical Development, and Sourcing teams
  • Support innovation initiatives by exploring new materials, silhouettes, graphics, and construction approaches
  • Manage design presentations and communicate concepts effectively to cross-functional partners
  • Aid with technical packages for current and ongoing workstreams


Creative Leadership & Communication



  • Present work clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders, articulating design rationale, cultural insight, and execution choices
  • Translate consumer and athlete insights into trend-right lifestyle product
  • Ensure storytelling, materials, and details align to the intended narrative throughout the product creation process
  • Maintain creative intent while meeting business timelines, operational requirements, and brand standards


Who You Are

Required Qualifications



  • 5+ years of relevant apparel design experience in a professional design environment
  • Expert-level proficiency in cut-and-sew pattern design and technical construction
  • Proven experience creating detailed tech packs and managing manufacturer communications
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating breadth across design styles, categories, and lifestyle sports aesthetics
  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel/Fashion Design, related design field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Deep passion for street, sport, and fashion cultures and/or adjacent sub-cultures and communities


Technical Skills



  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for technical flats and design development
  • Outstanding ability in drawing/sketching and illustration across analog and digital platforms
  • Strong understanding of concept ideation, color theory, and presentation development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials, color standards, and fit standards
  • Ability to convey design point of view through various visual tools to internal and external partners


Preferred Experience



  • Graphic design for apparel application
  • Color and materials development and specification
  • Men's and women's lifestyle wear design for the apparel industry
  • 3D design software experience
  • Background in lifestyle apparel creation and experience with external brand collaborations
  • Previous work in the athletic/performance lifestyle category

  • Lifestyle-focused work with sports/athletic influence
  • Cut-and-sew technical expertise and pattern development
  • Examples of tech pack creation and technical specification work
  • Evidence of creative problem-solving and design revision capabilities
  • Men's and/or women's lifestyle apparel (strongly preferred)
