Tisch Chair of the Tisch Center of Hospitality New York University New York, New York THE SEARCH The School of Professional Studies at New York University (NYU SPS) seeks a senior faculty member and exceptional administrative leader to fill the role of Associate Dean of the Jonathan M. Tisch Center and Jonathan M. Tisch Chair of the Tisch Center of Hospitality (Associate Dean). The successful candidate will be a distinguished industry leader and academic, with a strong record of achievement in higher education and evidence of significant leadership within the growing field of hospitality management. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of hospitality education at one of the worlds most dynamic universities. The Associate Dean will lead a team of faculty and staff, leveraging NYUs global network and the Tisch Centers strong foundation to elevate its profile nationally and internationally. This position calls for a committed educator and seasoned industry professional who can bridge academic rigor with real-world relevance. The Associate Dean will also be dedicated to supporting and strengthening a vibrant student experience, both within and outside the classroom. The hospitality industry is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by technological innovation, sustainability imperatives, and evolving workforce needs. The next Associate Dean will play a pivotal role in conceiving academically sound and timely programs that prepare students for leadership in this environment. Building on initiatives such as the Tisch Centers apprenticeship workforce program, this leader will champion experiential learning and innovative curricula that differentiate NYU in a competitive global market. The Associate Dean will foster synergies across NYUs diverse academic units and strengthen partnerships with industry leaders, creating opportunities for interdisciplinary research, internships, and employer engagement. By advancing a vision that integrates rigorous scholarship with practical, career-oriented learning, the Associate Dean will position the Tisch Center as a premier destination for hospitality education and thought leadership. Equally important will be supporting faculty excellence and student success. The Tisch Centers faculty combine research expertise with industry experience, requiring a leader who can promote collaboration, invest in professional development, and reward both scholarly contributions and applied impact. The Associate Dean will also deepen employer relationships and leverage NYUs location and alumni network to enhance career readiness, ensuring graduates thrive in an evolving hospitality landscape. COMPENSATION AND CONTRACT In compliance with NYCs Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000. The range for the annual administrative stipend is $80,000-$120,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This full-time position is a nine-month appointment with a multi-year renewable faculty contract. The Associate Dean position is a three-year, twelve-month administrative appointment that runs concurrent with the faculty role. The rank of the faculty position will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
