Position Summary:

The Executive Director, Specialty Operations & Alignment partners with physician dyad to provide strategic and operational leadership for MCMF specialty service lines. This role develops and implements specialty care programs, ensures alignment of clinical and operational objectives, and drives performance across ambulatory settings. The Executive Director fosters strong staff and physician engagement, supports specialty growth strategies, and leads continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality, patient experience, and operational efficiency.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Position reports to the MCMF COO.
  • Facilitates the development of growth goals and strategies, as informed by the system physician alignment and MCMF executive teams. Assist with a focus on recruitment priorities for high-need specialties in key markets to achieve the aforementioned goals
  • Lead and develop the specialty service lines that are in partnership with MCMF and MC hospitals to expand critical specialty services across the regions they serve. Advance effective specialty physician alignment strategies for MCMF.
  • Help define growth goals in coordination with the physician leaders, foundation, and hospital executive teams. Serve as primary liaison for MCMF and entity partner with MCMG employed surgical specialty physicians to achieve initiative goals and promote specialty alignment vehicles.
  • Facilitate progressing conversations with potential physician partners. In tandem with other stakeholders, negotiate contracts with physician recruitments as needed.
  • Facilitate improved coordination across specialty alignment models, including MCMG employed specialists and coordination with affiliated providers, achieve all quality, patient satisfaction and productivity goals. Ensure barriers between MCMF, hospital and physician initiatives are removed prior to any clinical impediment.
  • Work with system initiatives to improve both employed specialty physician and care team engagement.
  • Influence & leverage technology to improve workflows and care coordination for the service line across the continuum.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement using data to drive excellence.
  • Enhance patient and provider satisfaction through innovative programs and solutions.
  • Ensure all operational services meet regulatory and quality standards.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing clinic operations leaders.
  • Model collaborative, transparent leadership that inspires trust and engagement.

* Provides leadership in collaboration with Executive leadership team and physician dyad partners to plan, develop, implement and evaluate patient care programs, services and practice models including identification of business objectives, capital and other resource needs, expected operating revenues and expenses, allocation of space and organization of program personnel and other operation components for MemorialCare Medical Foundation specialty service lines: Hematology/Oncology, OB/GYN, Gyn-Onc, Gastroenterology, Cardiovascular, Hospitalist, Inpatient Radiology, Pulmonology. Additionally, this role will serve as a subject matter expert for office-based specialty service line structure and collaboration.

* Integrate MCMG employed specialty physicians into systemwide and medical center care line activities

* In partnership with MCMF leadership, physicians, medical centers, and service line leadership develop growth goals for each service line and specialty physicians. Serve as primary liaison for MCMG leadership, MCMF leadership, medical center leadership and employed specialty physicians. Work in tandem with HR and specialty department on recruitment of potential physician partners as directed by MCMF leadership

* Develop systems of accountability to ensure all quality, patient experience and productivity metrics are met and exceeded among all employed specialty physicians

* Create a spirit of partnership amongst and between physician providers and entities

* Enhance employed specialty physician and care team engagement through use of organizational development tools, professional development opportunities, facilitative leadership, goal setting and celebration

* Oversee the daily operations of support structure, staff and clinical sites where the specialists practice.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
