Job Summary


The Machining Manager oversees a small team of machinists while performing advanced CNC machining work. This role is responsible for producing prototype and production parts and fixtures, maintaining and improving tooling and equipment, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.


Essential Responsibilities



  • Supervise and support a team of 1 - 3 machinists
  • Manufacture prototype and production parts, fixtures, and tooling
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes
  • Maintain, repair, and improve production equipment, tooling, and fixtures
  • Develop and update machining methods and processes
  • Design machining fixtures and tooling solutions
  • Track labor time and material usage for assigned jobs
  • Maintain tooling inventory and support shop organization
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and perform basic machine diagnostics


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Strong working knowledge of CNC programming and operation (mills and lathes)
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, specifications, and models
  • Skilled in selecting appropriate cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and materials
  • Solid understanding of machining math, tolerances, and measurement techniques
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS for models, assemblies, and drawings
  • Experience using CAMWorks for CNC programming, including Yaxis lathes and 4thaxis mills
  • Knowledge of HAAS CNC milling machines and turning centers
  • Ability to design fixtures and support multi-machine operations
  • Experience with machine maintenance and repair
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities and work independently or with minimal supervision


Qualifications & Physical Requirements



  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use precision measuring tools
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks as required
  • Adherence to all safety policies and procedures
