TITLE: Converting Operator B
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for change-over and operation of lines within his / her assigned island. Must be able to maintain good housekeeping, safety, quality, production quantity, and must be able to work with other employees in assigned team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
- Mechanical aptitude
- 1+ years Plastic blown film experience as an
- Must maintain a good attendance record
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to plant safety rules and company policies. Responsible for housekeeping of assigned area.
- Responsible for quality in assigned area including proper Q.C. procedures.
- Responsible for production in assigned area.
- Responsible for production paperwork in assigned area.
- Able to fill in as packer for breaks and when shorthanded.
- Responsible for product change in assigned area.
- Responsible for T.P.M in assigned area.
- Responsible for training employees.
- Able to troubleshooting all equipment in assigned area.
- Work with maintenance on repair of equipment.
- Able to fill in during his/her absence of: Senior Lead, A Operator
- Work overtime as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Inside environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
- Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
- Inside and outside environments apply.
- Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
- Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body.
- Subject to hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat.
- Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. Example: Climb 3 flights of stairs as needed to reach top of the extruder.
- Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
- Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example: changing paper in printer, copier machine.
- Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knees or knee. Example: roll changes - lifting either 34 lbs. cores or 55 lbs. shafts (frequency per shift: 18 - 26 times).
- Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
- Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Example: giving signals, reaching for material or handles on item - moving raw materials with forklift.
- Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time. Example: Q.C. testing, on line inspections, etc.
- Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
- Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
- Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Lifting, rising objects from a lower to higher position, or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Degree of lifting: 5-50 lbs.
- Fingering, picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.
- Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
- Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
- Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words. Via face to face or telephone.
- Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss @ 500Hz, 1000Hz, and 2000Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
- Repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Position requires individuals to differentiate colors, depth and perception.
- Must be able to detect visual defects in film and use microscopes.
- Must be able to perform visual inspection involving small defects.
- Must be able to read measurement devices such as tape measurement, pendulum scale, digital displays, etc.
