For more than 140 years, The Family Partnership has built strong families, vital communities, and better futures for children. We fulfill our mission through counseling, education, and advocacy, primarily in the greater Minneapolis and St. Paul area. The Family Partnership was founded in 1878 as the Minneapolis Humane Society to protect and serve children that were being abused or exploited. Along with a few name changes, our work has continually transformed to anticipate and address the evolving needs of families and individuals, many of whom are the most vulnerable in our community.

Wages and Benefits

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour; $1,000 hiring bonus after 3 months of employment; Generous paid time off, plus 10 paid holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance; health savings account (HSA), and options for flexible spending accounts (FSA). There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays the premiums for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and long-term disability insurance. TFP sponsors a retirement plan with a tiered vesting schedule based on years of service, plus a 2% employer contribution after one year of service.

SCHEDULE

This is a hybrid position with at least 2 days per week working in-person at The Family Partnership office location. This position works during normal business hours and may include occasional evening and/or weekend hours.

Job Summary

The Family Partnership is seeking an Advancement Associate to play a key role in coordinating development and communications activities on the Advancement team.

Responsibilities



  • Serving as the Raiser's Edge database administrator, operating in Raiser's Edge NXT.
  • Maintaining accurate database data and donor information, including conducting donor research and producing monthly giving reports.
  • Receiving and processing cash, check, credit card, stock, and in-kind donations.
  • Preparing data reports for presentation and analysis for Advancement Team leadership and the Advancement Board Committee.
  • Preparing mail lists, letters, and other solicitation materials for fundraising campaigns.
  • Collaborating with Advancement Department staff and appropriate Finance staff on gift and grant reporting.
  • Maintaining documentation related to donation processing.
  • Executing The Family Partnership's Donor Thank You program in a timely manner, including learning, incorporating, and managing new technologies.
  • Educating and assisting the Executive Team and Advancement Team with Raiser's Edge functions as needed.
  • Filtering, prioritizing, and responding to requests and inquiries to the Advancement Department and redirecting to other staff or programs when appropriate.
  • Handling all administrative details for department-related committee and donor meetings, including preparing and distributing notices, agendas, and minutes.
  • Coordinating planning and logistics for all Advancement Department activities and events.
  • Learning and managing technology used for inviting, registering, and stewarding guests for Advancement Department events.
  • Managing gifts in-kind.
  • Assisting in coordinating volunteer opportunities across programs in collaboration with program staff.
  • Coordinating the printing and delivery of marketing and communications materials, including business cards, program materials, and other collateral.
  • Managing email contact lists in collaboration with the Communications team.
  • Monitoring local media outlets and preparing monthly summary reports for The Family Partnership leadership.



Who You Are



  • You bring 2-4 years of higher education in a related field.
  • You have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a nonprofit fund development role or demonstrate equivalent knowledge gained through alternative coursework and life experience.
  • You demonstrate high proficiency in Raiser's Edge or a similar donor database.
  • You demonstrate high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • You bring strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • You communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
  • You demonstrate excellent planning and time management skills.
  • You bring strong research skills, including effective use of the internet.
  • You have the ability to build and maintain professional relationships and demonstrate strong customer service skills.
  • You have the ability to maintain client confidentiality at all times.
  • It is preferred if you bring experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and/or MailChimp.
  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet TFP's driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
