Job Description




As a Security Officer - Data Center Patrol in Savannah, GA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, respond to calls for assistance, and use computer or tablet tools for reporting. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology and telecommunications location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, alarms, and access concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Control access by verifying identification and/or authorization, directing visitors to designated check-in areas, and assisting with badging or credentialing processes per site policy.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other systems when assigned, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate contacts.
  • Complete detailed reports for incidents, observations, and daily activities, using required documentation systems and maintaining accurate logs.
  • Support emergency and incident procedures such as evacuations, severe weather actions, and shelter-in-place processes as directed by site protocols.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to employees, contractors, vendors, and guests while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Communicate clearly with site personnel, Allied Universal leadership, and responding public services, coordinating information during routine operations and incident response.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support site operations, including checking doors and gates, verifying secured areas, and reporting maintenance concerns that could impact security-related operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security experience.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
