Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Anderson, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a food and beverage location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control, greet employees and visitors, and provide clear, professional communication when issues arise. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to the client and facility personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the food and beverage location, including production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, and perimeter fencing, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns.
  • Control access at entrances and/or gates by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, directing visitors to proper check-in areas, and logging entries and exits per site policy.
  • Monitor alarms, surveillance systems, and access control systems when assigned, and report irregular activity through established notification and escalation procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing scene management support until appropriate personnel arrive.
  • Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs with clear, accurate details, including observations from patrols and any policy violations identified.
  • Assist with traffic flow for employee and delivery vehicle movement, including directing drivers to designated routes, staging areas, and loading dock procedures when assigned.
  • Support enforcement of site rules related to restricted areas, prohibited items, and facility hygiene and protective equipment requirements as directed by post orders.
  • Communicate professionally with site management, employees, contractors, and/or visitors, providing directions and answering questions while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
  • Participate in required training and follow Allied Universal and site-specific post orders, including procedures for emergencies, evacuations, and/or shelter-in-place events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
