Job Description




As a Security Officer - Plant Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a fast-paced manufacturing and industrial location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will monitor assigned areas, respond to alarms and unusual activity, and communicate clearly with site contacts and arriving visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and escalation guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout manufacturing and industrial buildings, production areas, warehouses, yards, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or conditions that require attention.
  • Monitor access points and help manage the flow of employees, visitors, and contractors, including verifying identification and/or authorization in accordance with site requirements.
  • Perform visitor and contractor check-in and/or check-out, issue temporary credentials when directed, and maintain visitor logs and related documentation.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other site systems as assigned, and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns to the appropriate site contact.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by observing truck and trailer movements, checking in drivers per site procedure, and reporting discrepancies or suspicious activity.
  • Document patrol findings, incidents, and service requests in written reports, including timely notification to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.
  • Operate in compliance with Allied Universal standards and site policies, including radio communications, key and/or badge control, and shift turnover briefings.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • - Guard card/license is preferred.
  • - Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • - Customer service experience is preferred.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
