What We Are Doing:
The Microsoft Compass Program is a customer engagement R&D program that serves Microsoft's Experiences & Devices division (imagine: all our collaboration experiences including M365 Copilot, Office, Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, Windows, Devices, and more). The Compass program includes more than 100 of Microsoft's strategic enterprise customers from around the world and was the first place Microsoft customers could test Copilot through our AIX00 program.



Responsibilities

Who We Are Looking For:

Note: This position sits in our user experience researchteam butis unlike any other UXR job you may have seen.It'sa combination ofcustomer account management,UX research programoperationsand program management.

In thisroleyouwill helpusmanage and engageaselectionof our 100 Compass customersandthe Microsoft sales teams that work directly with those customers.

As on-point customercontacts forCompass, our role is todrive amutually beneficialproduct development relationship with customers in the Compass program. This entails ensuring thecustomersmeet program obligationsforengaging in our research activities and navigating the complexity of when theydisengage.

Fieldengagement:You will be a key part ofour work toengage the field in our Compass activities for both current and prospective customers.

Research programs:You will help create and manage new research programs to engage customers throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.

Thekeyattributeswe are looking for:

  1. Excellent project managementskills.This is to help us manage our AIX00 Copilot Preview and Compass broadly. Graspof andattention to detail (and agile execution) is critical.

  1. Ability to manage complex, matrixed relationships:You must have experience working with customersand sales teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 1+ year(s) User Experience Research experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 3+ years User Experience Research experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 4+ years User Experience Research experience OR equivalent experience?
  • 5+ years of program or product management experience.

  • 5+ years of experience working directly withcustomers;including managing customer relationships & engagements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Outstanding project management, able to work fast on multiple,challengingand ambiguous assignments.

  • Research program operations experience is highly desired.

  • Familiarity with product-making research methods and processes.

  • As our focusisthe growth and development of Copilot,strong familiarity of AI is preferred.

  • Experience thriving and collaborating positively in an intense program: The development pace of Copilot isfastand the opportunity and demands on our team are equally intense.

UX Research IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
