CM Specialist
Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated CM Specialist to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

Document Control & Administration
-Digitize and archive production orders for all programs, ensuring organized storage in designated repositories.
-Manage document release within SharePoint for DWIs, FAIs, and engineering specifications, maintaining structural integrity across program folders.
-Ensure regulatory compliance of archived production orders by verifying scan quality and adherence to program-specific document retention policies.
-Administer external data transfers by loading engineering data and specifications to the FTP site for vendor and supplier access.
-Provide cross-functional support by performing Document Control Clerk duties as required to maintain operational continuity.

Configuration & Change Management
-Execute systematic audits of Configuration Management (CM) and Program records to ensure strict version control compliance.
-Facilitate "As-Built" configurations utilizing the ERP system to capture accurate production baselines.
-Process engineering change documentation from multiple sources to assess and communicate impacts on manufacturing and inspection workflows.
-Coordinate the review cycle for engineering changes, preparing all necessary documentation for departmental evaluation.
-Monitor lifecycle status of configuration data to verify that all documents are correctly prepared, reviewed, implemented, and closed.
-Maintain master specification lists and revision histories for each program to ensure technical data accuracy.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance
-Serve as an active member of the Configuration Control Board (CCB), integrating feedback into the resolution of engineering changes.
-Synchronize departmental inputs using configuration management systems to maintain a centralized and accurate data trail.
-Support Engineering Management in the technical review and implementation of received changes.

Minimum Requirements

-Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.). Able to multi-task on various projects.
-Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
-Understanding accurate data entry practices.
-Must be a US person.

Preferred Requirements

-Associate Degree in Business, Finance or MIS, and 1 year experience in a Configuration Management field, or equivalent years of experience.
-Basic knowledge of standard engineering concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing and inspecting products.
-Basic knowledge of BOMs (Bill of Materials) structures.
-Must be extremely accurate in data collection and presentation.

Physical Requirements

-Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, wear proper PPE, and follow Boeing regulations for lifting.
-Work onsite in Manassas VA.

Salary Range (Annualized USD)

  • Minimum Range: $52,000.00 to $93,000.00
  • Maximum Range: $63,000.00 to $113,000.00
