Join our dynamic team as a Registered Nurse and play an important role in enhancing employee health and safety within the location. In this role, you will be involved in the planning, execution, and evaluation of innovative health maintenance and education programs, as well as contributing to the overall well-being of the workforce.

You will provide professional nursing care and manage precise clinical records to ensure all health information remains up to date. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and improving our occupational health and safety efforts and offering recommendations to create a safer work environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified. May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Employee Illness and Injury Treatment: You are responsible for assessing employee's illnesses and injuries and administer appropriate initial and follow-up treatment. You will make medical referrals as needed and participate in employee health promotion activities.

  • Workers' Compensation Management: You will be the case manager of health assessment and reviews for workers' compensation, initiate and follow-up with claims, and document treatment plans. You will serve as a liaison between the insurance career, health provider, and company. You are responsible for understanding workers' compensation law to effectively participate in worker's compensation hearings and mediations.

  • Treatment and Records: You will interpret and evaluate medical and occupation history, subjective complaints, physical examinations, along with laboratory values or other diagnostic screening tests, industrial hygiene, and personal exposure. You will document treatment, complete accident investigation reports, and maintain employee records. You will be accountable for managing medical equipment and supplies.

  • Employee Health Assessment: You will complete pre-placement screening to review health history of employees, complete physical assessments, and administer Leave of Absence and Return to Work physicals.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

  • Current Registered Medical Manager (RN) licensure from the accrediting State government agency in the State of practice, or licensure from an accrediting State government agency in a State that reciprocates licensure through a multi-state compact.

  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR and AED.

  • Ability to make strategic decisions while in stressful situations including leading emergency response efforts.

  • Accustomed to working long hours, weekends, and remaining in an on-call status when required.

  • Energized to travel for collaboration purposes occasionally.

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • First Aid, CPR, and AED instructor certification desirable.

  • Occupational Health Nurse/Case Management Certification, preferred

  • CAOHC and NIOSH certifications, preferred

  • Experience in trauma nursing, emergency room or critical care area, preferred

  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations such as bloodborne pathogens and OSHA recordkeeping

  • Knowledge of workers' compensation processes and incident investigation

  • Demonstrated computer skills, particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and company software packages.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills for drafting reports, business correspondence, and procedures in English.

  • Effective presentation skills and ability to responds to questions from a diverse audience.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and have strong organizational skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non- weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Indoor and outdoor work environments.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use stairs, some ladder climbing, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear.

  • Work alternate shifts and some weekends.

  • Ability to deliver information to diverse audiences.

  • Fundamental mathematical skills for managing Key Performance Indicators.

  • Embody respect, approachability, and a team-oriented demeanor for fostering robust working relationships and cultivating a positive work environment.
