Description
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for being the first point of contact for patients as they begin their therapy care. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. This is a full-time remote position working Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm. Essential Functions:
- Provide initial support and guidance to patients through phone and text interactions
- Coordinate a variety of work list queues based on patient contact methods which could include inbound calls, outbound calls and texting
- Proficiently create a new account in the practice management system
- Communicate all pertinent information to patients, including appointment information, directions, check-in times, and referral information
- Verify and accurately document patient insurance information and maintain a working knowledge of health care plan requirements and health plan networks
- Perform efficient scheduling with attention to detail using practice management software
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensure accuracy and consistency in patient communications, adhering to company protocols and standards
- Engage in clear, professional communication, both written and verbal, with both internal and external clients, patients and staff
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to PHI and HIPAA guidelines
- Respond to inquiries and relay information without delay, maintaining open lines of communication
- All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Customer Service experience required
- Experience with accurate and proficient written communication
- i-Health Administrative or Medical Office experience preferred

Working Conditions:
- Frequentlylift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.
- Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
- Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).
