A Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to apply a range of therapeutic interventions aimed at rehabilitating physical, psycho-social, and developmental disorders. This role requires detailed knowledge of occupational therapy practices, including understanding not only how tasks are performed but also why they are necessary, with the ability to interpret relevant data. In addition, the assistant must have a basic understanding of the rules and regulations specific to the care setting to ensure safe and effective patient support. Under the supervision of an Physical Therapist, applies a variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical, psycho-social, and developmental disorders. Additional Job Duties: Requires detailed knowledge of occupational therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data.
