Position Summary

The Director of Commercial Training Strategy is responsible for the development of all product disease state, selling capabilities, executional excellence, and competitive landscape training for field and commercial personnel within the hematology portfolio. The Director is the primary facilitator for new hire classes, applicable advanced training (both product and skills), and workshop content development, along with supporting training efforts across national and regional meeting rollouts. The Director works strategically with cross-functional stakeholders on both content and execution of training initiatives to ensure alignment with Company business priorities. Additionally, the Director plays a critical role in ensuring that market strategies and execution are aligned to field goals and needs.

This position is remote with a corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ and will report to the Vice President, Sales.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop clinical training strategies and future planning across the commercial organization (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, HQ, etc.)
  • Coordinate and deliver internal and field force training programs for the ongoing development of clinical and selling skills for the commercial team
  • Design and deploy an integrated training strategy that drives continuous development of product and clinical knowledge, competitive readiness, compliant selling skills, adverse event management, and advanced engagement capabilities such as situational awareness
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an effective commercial new hire onboarding experience; will support the onboarding of all new hire commercial employees (internal and field-facing) through planning and execution phases
  • Own the development and execution of advanced trainings, including Phase 2 Trainings (an internal clinical preceptorship/patient journey program)
  • Assess field force skills, customer engagement, competitiveness, and productivity; prepare written evaluations to leadership on recommendations for improvement
  • Oversee the training in all key areas of hematology training operations, including the ordering and shipping of training materials
  • Identify future training needs and create a curriculum to ensure a best-in-class training experience
  • Contribute to the design, development, and analysis of training across functions, and support efforts that drive improvements in field force effectiveness
  • Manage the training field input team to ensure training needs are being assessed and met
  • Closely partner with Marketing to execute brand content and curriculum; proactively working across the commercial organization to ensure strategic alignment in field direction
  • Apply focused and effective training methods, including adult learning techniques, virtual training, in-person study, and eLearning
  • Responsible for management of and collaboration with Promotional Review Committee to ensure all training materials remain fully compliant without exception
  • Own and manage clinical training budget

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial training or related commercial HQ-based role
  • Experience with learning management systems
  • Successful track record in managing training agencies and executing training programs

Salary Statement:

Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background. The salary range displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed.

General Salary Range: $215,000 to $225,000
