THE POSITION

Join the Department of Revenue's Bureau of Enforcement and Taxpayer Assistance, Tobacco Enforcement Division in this Stock Clerk 3 position. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role you will serve as a central point of control for seized contraband tobacco products and ensure strict compliance with property control procedures and chain of custody requirements. This work is essential for maintaining public trust in the practical reality of how evidence is handled and where it goes.

Your responsibilities will involve overseeing the intake, custody, documentation, and destruction of seized evidence, as well as coordinating pickups and transportation of evidence from other field office locations. Our team will rely on you to maintain secure property controls, determine efficient scheduling for vehicle deployment, and ensure all required documentation is in place before proceeding with any actions. This includes updating and maintaining accurate property logs and records, as well as resolving logistical issues with vehicle assignments or fleet availability to ensure effective and timely operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in stores control work, including one year of experience with responsibility for the operation of a small storeroom; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a high school or vocational school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a current driver's license which is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
