THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Food Service Workers to join our dedicated dietary services team at Wernersville State Hospital. In this role, you will help prepare and serve appealing, nutritious meals while supporting departmental goals to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming dining environment for consumers. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will prepare and serve food while ensuring that all cleaning tasks are completed in accordance with hospital and departmental policies as well as health and sanitation regulations. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and work surfaces. In addition, you will assemble meal trays, measure and serve food portions, and transport trays and carts. You will also operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, and grinders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 2nd shift (11:00 AM to 7:00 PM), Sunday - Saturday, with two paid 15 minute breaks. Your schedule consists of 10 working days within a 14-day period, including every other weekend.
  • Overtime: As needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $37,660.00 (before taxes).
