DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role of a Property Manager is essential in managing the day-to-day operations of properties, providing support to residents, and ensuring that affordable housing remains safe and well-maintained, all while aligning with the overarching goals of the Housing Authority. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including leasing and occupancy management, where the Property Manager conducts interviews with prospective tenants, reviews lease agreements, and facilitates the move-in process, ensuring that all necessary documentation and inspections are completed.
Additionally, the Property Manager addresses issues related to delinquency and legal compliance by processing reports, preparing termination letters for nonpayment, and representing the property in eviction hearings. They also oversee housekeeping and inspection protocols, addressing any failures and initiating necessary actions, while conducting regular income and financial reviews to ensure compliance with housing regulations. Reporting and documentation are critical components of the role, as the Property Manager prepares monthly reports detailing various activities, including tenant certifications and court actions.
Furthermore, they administer policies and programs, such as managing requests under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and participating in meetings addressing fraud and criminal activity. Community engagement is another key aspect, with the Property Manager conducting site tours, responding to tenant inquiries, and participating in meetings regarding maintenance disputes. Supervision of clerical staff is also part of the role, which includes addressing performance issues and conducting annual evaluations. Finally, the Property Manager is responsible for administrative and fiscal duties, managing requisitions, approving payments, and overseeing office inventory and budget planning, while also performing any related duties as required. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three (3)years experience in supervising or performing tasks associated with the management of multi-family residential subsidized or affordable housing communities, property owned, or programs administered by a public housing authority or comparable (low-income) property management agency; or
- One (1) year as an Assistant Property Manager or Assistant Section 8 Coordinator; or
- Two (2) years as a Management Aide.
