Job Description:

The Job

The Director of Cloud Infrastructure and Technology Operations position is entrusted with the oversight of all Information Technology infrastructure, Cloud Architecture, and associated services. The primary mandate is to guarantee a highly reliable, performant, and secure cloud environment, striving for exceptional system uptime and end-to-end service availability. The Director will partner effectively with key business stakeholders and various internal IT teams to define, implement and continuously refine processes for quality assurance, security controls and comprehensive system maintenance.

Success in this capacity demands a potent combination of advanced technical mastery, particularly across servers, storage, networking, security and multi-cloud platforms, coupled with an Enterprise Architecture mindset and keen business judgement. The ideal candidate must be a forward-thinking leader, capable of interpreting emerging technologies and industry movements to proactively address future organizational needs and drive a competitive advantage.

You Will

  • Establish and drive the operational mission, vision and strategic goals, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with overarching business and enterprise IT strategies.
  • Spearhead the introduction of advanced cloud infrastructure capabilities and operational frameworks that enhance organizational differentiation and maximize employee efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain robust, end-to-end monitoring and observability strategies for all infrastructure, applications, and services to proactively identify and resolve performance degradation and ensure service-level objectives (SLOs) are met.
  • Cultivate robust, trust-based relationships with critical IT and Business partners, serving as a trusted advisor to ensure the streamlined and efficient delivery of all IT services.
  • Partner with stakeholders to comprehensively assess and prioritize initiatives for remediating accumulated technical debt, maintaining a resilient and adaptable IT landscape.
  • Align the organization's operational strategies with defined future-state capabilities and measurable business outcomes, developing a clear value roadmap.
  • Develop, oversee, and manage the annual operational budget, ensuring consistency with strategic objectives and promoting a pervasive culture of continuous cost optimization.
  • Work closely with senior management to embed security strategies directly into the cloud infrastructure operations for robust compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure the delivery of superior service and support to all internal organizational teams.

Your Qualifications

Education and Professional Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems.
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience covering networking, systems operations, data center management, servers, storage solutions, cloud management, client computing and production controls
  • At least 3 years in formal leadership capacity, including direct accountability for strategy development, budgetary control, and staffing/team management.
  • Strong domain-specific knowledge and business acumen within the healthcare industry.

Leadership and Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience and an Enterprise Architecture (EA) mindset focused on establishing architecture standards, roadmaps, and governance to support long-term business goals.
  • Proven experience in championing and executing complex, large-scale transformational initiatives, including successful management of On-premise data center to cloud migration efforts, and projects related to Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) or the Divestiture Spin-off.
  • Previous experience in a software development or engineering role, demonstrating a developer-centric mindset and a deep ability to understand the application landscape, developer workflows, and underlying system requirements.
  • Past exposure to data warehouse environment and data management principles, enabling the Director to efficiently design Cloud infrastructure that supports the organization's critical data and analytics strategy.
  • Exceptional capacity to articulate a compelling vision for both enterprise and business units that inspires staff and aligns with organizational strategies.
  • A history of successfully consolidating operational functions within complex enterprise environments to enhance overall efficiency while remaining responsible to customer needs for agility.
  • Outstanding skills in analytical thinking, strategic planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in achieving consensus, making sound decisions under multi-variable conditions, and securing security support for major initiatives.
  • A skilled mentor and coach in staff development, performance management and career progression.

Cloud Engineering & Automation:

  • In-depth expertise in engineering cloud management solutions, covering software development, system integration, and sustained operational engineering across multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
  • Deep proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools like Terraform or Bicep for automated and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.
  • Experience creating self-service mechanisms to automate and simplify infrastructure provisioning and management, utilizing modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g, Azure DevOps).
  • Demonstrated experience managing and integrating various service models, including SaaS (Software as a Service) and DaaS (Data as a Service).
  • Proven experience with modern observability platforms and tools such as Prometheus for metrics, logging, and tracing to maintain system health.
  • Strong familiarity with modern identity and access management solutions like Microsoft Entra and device management platforms such as Intune.
  • Exposure towards Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions.
  • Experience applying cloud infrastructure automation to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of statutory or regulatory compliance mandates.
  • Proficiency in establishing and maturing operation frameworks, such as ITIL.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current, emerging, and prevalent industry technologies and best practices.
  • A track record of effective third-party management, working collaboratively with sourcing and vendor management teams.
  • Willingness for occasional travel as needed.
