Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. PeopleSoft Application Developer.

In this role, the successful Peoplesoft Techno-Functional Lead Programmer/Analyst, is a seasoned PeopleSoft Finance and Supply Chain (FSCM) functional programmer/analyst providing advanced expertise in a complex professional discipline; mentors less-experienced staff with responsibility for their technical/analytical development. This position reports to the Associate Director and serves as the Corporate Systems representative to support Corporate Systems automation as well as be the technical (and functional) expert to support the PeopleSoft Finance and Supply Chain user community focusing on Procure to Pay and Inventory. The position will work with developers and corporate business process owners to collect and user requirements and code them into well engineered, tested, and deployed business application systems. This individual is a conduit between the customer community and the software development team peers through which requirements flow. The primary responsibility will be programming but will also develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates self-motivation and ownership by proactively identifying solutions, driving tasks to completion with minimal supervision, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve code quality and system performance.
  • Job Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Understands interdependencies between FSCM modules. Helps design and configure systems to ensure smooth and accurate data flow.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs).
  • Code, trouble-shoot, analyze, and test our PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 application
  • Understand and maintain functional inter-dependencies between FSCM modules.
  • Assist in design and configuration of systems to ensure smooth and accurate data flow.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze Job and Process failures as well as assist in correcting them.
  • Assist in project deliverables as required; Work with peer developers to understand and document program development requirements
  • Assist in production support resolution as required; Define and conduct system tests and system validation.
  • Follows department standard methodology and procedures, including change control.
  • Develops test plans and create test scripts with coordination with the business user and QA teams.
  • Define and conduct system tests and system validation. Ensure the test scripts have been created, reviewed, and updated to reflect proposed solutions. Support and oversee user acceptance testing.
  • Assists with User Acceptance Testing and logging/resolving testing issues.
  • Manage communication to users on assigned tickets, track issues, ensure their timely resolution, and manage user expectations. Assists in prioritization of user requests.
  • Perform report development or modification, data extraction using PS Query, SQL etc. Support Business users modifying and developing queries.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:

  • Independent contributor IT professional, applying technical expertise in one or more IT disciplines.
  • Selects, customizes, configures, installs and supports packages. Understands the work processes of assigned business areas.
  • Collect user requirements and translates them into well-engineered, tested, and deployed business application systems.
  • Responsibilities include the analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of information.
  • Receives general direction, work in progress is reviewed routinely.
  • Believes in quality documentation and maintaining up to date status updates in relevant systems with little or no direction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • To qualify you must have a PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2; strong technical knowledge of PeopleTools 8.55+ including IB web services, application packages, AWE, fluid user interface (UI), work centers, activity guides, pivot grids and oracle SQL
  • Experience with migration tools, analyzing and retrofitting PUM images
  • Strong functional understanding of FSCM modules including GL, AM, Grants, AR, BI, eProcurment, AP, Mobile Inventory, Treasury and eSupplier.
  • UNIX scripting, java scripts, css, html experience preferred but not required.
  • Typically requires 7 or more years of experience and BA/BS degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an academic medical center.
  • Strong Verbal and Writing skills as well as excellent listening skills. Ability to multi-task and coordinate competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of PeopleSoft Supply Chain management including Purchasing, Inventory, eProcurement, Strategic Sourcing, Procure to Pay.
  • Experience with ParEx, Omni Cell, GHX Connect Plus and Oracle Primavera.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues using tracing, SQL, Application Designer, and PeopleSoft tables Can modify SQR and Application Engine Programs.Experience with PeopleTools and Integrations between PeopleSoft and third party applications.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 - $150,219.06 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
