Qualifications EDUCATION High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a State of Connecticut Training Course for Home Health Aides or completion of one of the exemptions in subdivision 2 of subsection D of Section 19-13 (d)(2)(B) of the Home Health Care Agency Licensure Regulations. Must be able to provide own transportation. Satisfactory work references. SPECIAL SKILLS Medium to heavy work. Constant handling of up to 5 pounds. Occasional handling of up to 70 pounds. Frequent driving required. Standing, walking, and handling are performed on a constant basis. Sitting, carrying, bending, lifting/lowering, twisting, reaching, and pushing/pulling with the arms are performed on a frequent basis. Squatting/kneeling, pushing/pulling with the whole body, and stair climbing are performed on an occasional basis. Clear vision. Accurate hearing. The highest physical demands of this position are incurred while performing the following activities: ' Transferring a client requiring maximal assist of one person. For example, sidelying to sitting over bed, and sitting to standing from chair, commode, toilet or bed. Loads lifted or forces exerted up to 70 pounds for client weighing up to 220 pounds in height range of 0 - 36 inches. May be performed on an occasional to frequent basis while providing personal care. ' Carrying equipment, laundry, or furniture in home. Loads may include wheelchair (50 pounds), or kitchen chair (10-15 pounds), laundry (average 10-20 pounds). Performed on an occasional basis. ' Lifting and carrying small child in home. Weight of child up to 40 pounds. May be performed on an occasional to frequent basis when working with client needing child care. ' Completing bed bath or passive range of motion. Estimated forces required to manually handle extremity of client weighing 120 - 220 pounds for lower extremity. Performed on a frequent basis.
