Who We Are We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport's growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open. The RoleThis internship provides a unique, hands-on educational experience in the sports industry for one law student. The intern will support the Legal Department on preparations for the 2026 US Open and on a variety of corporate and nonprofit matters. Responsibilities may include:
    Drafting and reviewing contracts
  • Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda on sports industry and corporate governance issues
  • Drafting cease-and-desist letters
  • Assisting with litigation matters
  • Supporting special projects as assigned
Program details:
  • 8-week program from June 9 through August 11
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM ET
  • Hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site at our Times Square office.
  • Compensation: $35.00 per hour
Who You Are
    • A 1st- or 2nd-year law student enrolled in an accredited law school
    • Strong in legal research, writing, and analytical skills
    • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple assignments
    • Curious about the intersection of law, sports, and nonprofit governance
    • Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
    • Professional, discreet, and capable of handling confidential information
    • Enthusiastic about contributing to a mission-driven organization
