HVAC Technician III - Industrial - JLL What this job involves: As an HVAC Technician III - Industrial at JLL, you will serve as a highly skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning technician specializing in industrial settings with advanced expertise in complex and large-scale HVAC systems found in manufacturing plants, power plants, and other industrial facilities. This role represents a level 3 technician within the industrial HVAC field requiring capabilities in advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on intricate equipment like large air handling units, chillers, boilers, and complex building automation systems. You'll possess deep understanding of industrial HVAC systems including complex controls, piping systems, and refrigerant management while performing extensive preventative maintenance and managing larger installation and upgrade projects that reflect JLL's commitment to operational excellence and industrial facility management. What your day-to-day will look like: Advanced System Maintenance and Repair: * Diagnose and repair complex industrial HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, and large air handlers with comprehensive technical expertise * Perform advanced troubleshooting of intricate problems with industrial HVAC systems involving multiple components and complex interactions * Execute repairs on sophisticated equipment requiring specialized knowledge of industrial-grade systems and components * Work with building automation systems and controls to optimize performance and resolve system integration issues Preventative Maintenance and Inspection: * Perform extensive preventative maintenance checks and inspections on industrial HVAC systems to identify potential issues before they become major problems * Conduct systematic evaluations of system performance and efficiency metrics * Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for complex industrial equipment * Document maintenance activities and system performance data for trend analysis and optimization Technical Analysis and Documentation: * Interpret blueprints and schematics to understand system layouts and components for effective troubleshooting and maintenance * Analyze system performance data and recommend improvements for enhanced efficiency and reliability * Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, maintenance activities, and system modifications * Provide technical reports and recommendations to management and engineering teams Project Management and Installation: * Manage larger projects including installation of new equipment, system upgrades, and modifications * Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams for successful project completion * Oversee equipment commissioning and startup procedures for new installations * Ensure projects are completed within budget, timeline, and quality specifications Emergency Response and Safety Compliance: * Respond to emergency service calls for industrial HVAC issues with rapid and effective problem resolution * Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations due to potential hazards in industrial settings * Implement lockout/tagout procedures and other safety measures during maintenance and repair activities * Maintain current knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices Required Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent with completion of HVAC technical training program * Minimum 5-7 years of experience in industrial HVAC systems with progressive skill development * EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification required * Advanced knowledge of industrial HVAC systems including complex controls, piping systems, and refrigerant management * Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation * Experience with building automation systems and control technologies * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex industrial equipment * Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively Preferred Qualifications: * Associate degree in HVAC Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field * Manufacturer-specific certifications for industrial equipment (Carrier, Trane, York, etc.) * Building automation system certifications (Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, etc.) * Boiler and chiller operation and maintenance certifications * Experience with project management and installation oversight * Knowledge of energy management and efficiency optimization techniques Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various positions including confined spaces * Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments with potential hazards * Ability to work in varying temperature conditions and outdoor environments * Manual dexterity for precision work with tools and equipment Working Conditions: Position requires work in industrial facilities with exposure to mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and potentially hazardous materials. Must be available for emergency calls and occasional overtime work. May require travel between multiple industrial sites. Location: Greer, SC This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
