Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Specialist,Quality Data Stroke Program Registered Nurse.
In this role, the successful candidate Provide comprehensive support to stroke program as needed for data abstraction and reporting purposes. Facilitate the review of stroke related data to maintain comprehensive stroke certification and reporting of results. Provide reinforcement of standards that support care for the adult stroke patient.
Job Responsibilities:
- Independently review clinical records and collaborate with Stroke Coordinators to manage and maintain stroke registry. Exercise clinical judgement to identify, abstract, and validate key data elements for accurate and timely submission for regulatory and quality improvement purposes.
- Provides stroke team with recommendations for improvement. Conveys needs to Stroke Coordinator and clinical informatics team for system builds when needed.
- Collects, measures, creates reports and prepares statistical information for reports requested by the stroke team.

Designs community outreach activities and community stroke education.
- Facilitates stroke education activities for the wider EMS community
- Coordinates activities to promote multidisciplinary collaboration with the Home Depot Emergency Department at NYU Langone Health Cobble Hill to ensure adherence to the protocols and regulatory requirements for Stroke Care at our only stand-alone emergency department, prior to inpatient transfers.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement initiates aimed at enhancing the efficiency of stroke care protocols.
- Collaborates in the creation of multidisciplinary workflows across the continuum of care to optimize stroke patient outcomes
- Coordinates activities to promote compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Articulates and demonstrates understanding of all Joint Commission, Department of Health, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services standards pertinent to the Comprehensive Stroke Care Center.
- Articulates and demonstrates understanding of clinical processes and workflows, interdisciplinary collaboration, quality and performance management, patient safety, continuum of care concepts, customer service, professional practice and healthy work environments.
- Supports Stroke Coordinator as directed to maintain regulatory guidelines as it relates to New York State Department of Health and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Certification.
- Participates in development of presentations, reports and publications. Involved in performance improvement projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1. Bachelors degree, completed accredited practical nursing certificate program; or Bachelors of nursing degree.
2. At least three years of experience in the healthcare field.
3. Excellent chart review and data abstraction skills.
4. Previous demonstration of ability to facilitate group processes and work cohesively with an interdisciplinary team.
5. Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and innovative problem solving..
Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
2. Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
3. Competence Progressive leadership; demonstrated in a leadership position or demonstrates the potential for leadership competency; demonstrates ability to develop, guide, motivate, nurture, and coach others; participation in service or departmental committees.
4. Experience in public speaking and presentations.
5. Experience in neuroscience patient population
6. Demonstrated ability to facilitate group processes and workflow implementation as a member of an interdisciplinary team
7. Demonstrated experience in heavy interactions with administrators, physicians, clinical staff, community members and patients
8. Membership in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations
9. Certification in relevant practice area preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $137,376.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
