Job Summary

The Inventory Data Analyst will support the Merchandise Planning and Inventory Management (MPIM) data analytics and reporting team. This role focuses on delivering analytical products such as dashboards, insights, and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a strong technical contributor and an effective storyteller who can uncover impactful insights from complex data and communicate them clearly to stakeholders. Responsibilities include analyzing retail data, tracking KPIs, and promoting a culture of data-driven excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis on complex retail data and convert findings into actionable KPI metrics.
  • Measure and track data created by data products to assess business impact.
  • Create dashboards to monitor adoption and performance of launched features and data products.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and regional analysts to understand needs and provide guidance.
  • Dive deep into business problems, provide insights, and collaborate on implementation with cross-functional teams.
  • Work with data science, analytics, and product managers on planning, goal setting, and prioritization.
  • Collaborate with data and engineering teams to improve data quality and support business debugging.
  • Present data insights through clear storytelling for audiences with varying technical expertise.
  • Promote data-driven technical excellence, ownership, and collaboration.
  • Optimize and standardize reporting through automation.


Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience analyzing complex data and providing actionable recommendations.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data visualization using tools such as Looker or Power BI.
  • Proficiency in SQL for extracting and manipulating large datasets (experience with Google BigQuery or MS SQL preferred).
  • Experience with data integration tools such as Data Fusion, Alteryx, or Dataiku is a plus.
  • Coding skills in Python or R for data analysis and automation are desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with big data related to sales, inventory management, and planning; retail knowledge is an advantage.
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear executive summaries with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
