Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed insurance professional to serve as a Facilitator for training and development of a pre-licensed insurance program. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, in-depth knowledge of insurance products and regulations in multiple states, and a passion for educating and empowering others. This role involves delivering engaging pre licensed training classes, ensuring compliance with state licensing requirements, and supporting professional growth for insurance agents and staff. Responsibilities
Facilitation & Training:
- Design and deliver interactive training sessions on insurance products, compliance, and best practices to ensure learners understand core insurance concepts, state regulations and exam strategies needed to successfully pass the state licensing exam.
- Utilize adult learning principles to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Compliance & Licensing:
- Ensure all training content aligns with Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Michigan Department of Insurance regulations.
- Maintain active Michigan insurance license and stay current on regulatory changes of all mentioned states.
- Curriculum:
- Collaborate with Learning & Development teams to deliver complex insurance concepts - coverages, underwriting, policies, regulations in clear, accessible ways with a blend of lecture, discussions, demonstrations, and assessments to reinforce learning.
- Performance Support:
- Provide coaching and mentorship to new and experienced agents.
- Assess student progress and provide individualized guidance, feedback and remediation when needed.
- Assess training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Ensure coverage for classes and assignments: and communicate with appropriate staff and leadership
- Complete Continuous Education courses as assigned by Leadership.
- Will follow stated department and client procedures including, but not limited to, daily attendance, curriculum status and advocate assessment
- Other duties as assigned to ensure actions are billable if required
Qualifications
- Required:
- Active Michigan Insurance License (Life, Health, Property & Casualty preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance sales, underwriting, or training class for licensing students.
- Strong knowledge of Michigan/Texas insurance laws and compliance standards.
- Must be able to train during core business hours of 8:00 am to 7:00 pm EST. Must be flexible to train outside these hours as business dictates
- Healthcare Sales/ Retail/ Customer Service experience is a plus
- Preferred:
- Experience as a corporate trainer or facilitator in the insurance industry.
- Certification in adult learning or instructional design (e.g., CPLP, ATD).
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex insurance concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in virtual training platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Classroom Management Skills: Ability to manage all aspects of the adult classroom environment independently - including daily attendance and trainee engagement
- Ability to coach and mentor
- Critical Thinking Skills and the ability to develop this skill in trainees using appropriate training techniques
- Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Products
