The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Apex Tool Group is looking to add an HR Manager to support our distribution operations throughout North America. Based in Apex, NC and reporting to the VP, Human Resources, North America Hand Tools, this role will develop, align, and execute strategies and programs to achieve business goals and objectives, and promote associate engagement. The incumbent will sit on the North American Distribution leadership team supporting 115 on-site associates and up to an additional 20 associates at satellite distribution centers throughout the US and Canada.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Business Partner - Seeks an understanding of business strategies and projects allowing the creation and alignment of HR strategy to strategic business objectives and projects
  • Leadership Development - Advises the distribution leadership team on all aspects of human resources and leadership, reinforcing leadership behaviors that align with ATG's core values
  • Talent Management - Manages Talent Management processes including our annual review and workplace planning processes, associate development, learning & development, etc.
  • Talent Acquisition - Leads full-cycle recruiting process for all hourly distribution associates including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding and immersion
  • Associate Engagement - Creates and manages programs that ensure proactive associate relations and drives engagement; proactively champions communications with associates
  • Continuous Improvement - Regularly analyzes HR and other data to provide actionable insights to business leaders; recommends improvements within HR and business processes
  • Compliance - Ensures compliance with and adherence to all local, state, and federal laws for all aspects of human resources management; stays current on trends related to human resources

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years progressive HR experience; manufacturing or distribution experience preferred
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certifications preferred
  • Experience with high volume full-cycle hourly recruiting including sourcing, screening, interviewing, onboarding and immersion
  • Experience as a change agent in a fast-paced environment, with experience in driving clear and timely communications between leadership and production associates
  • Experience owning and improving HR processes in partnering with the business related to associate engagement, talent acquisition and management, leadership development, etc.
  • Ability to effectively coach, communicate, and influence leaders and associates at all levels
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10% in the US/Canada
