Position Summary

STS Aviation Services is hiring experienced AOG Airframe and Powerplant Technicians in Melbourne, Florida. In this role, you will support critical Aircraft on Ground events by performing repairs, overhauls, modifications, and maintenance on commercial and large regional aircraft. This position is fast paced, travel driven, and demands a high level of technical skill, flexibility, and professionalism.


Educational Background and Experience

  • Minimum of five years of heavy aircraft maintenance experience on commercial aircraft
  • Boeing and Airbus experience required
  • Prior AOG and line maintenance experience required
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • United States citizenship with a valid, current passport

General Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Thorough working knowledge of all documentation required to support AOG maintenance services, including company policies, procedures, manuals, FARs, ADs, service bulletins, and maintenance manuals
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions, blueprints, and drawings
  • Proficient in the use of tools, gauges, and instruments required to perform assigned duties
  • Understanding of hazardous material handling and disposal related to aircraft maintenance
  • Ability to meet qualifications for Airport and SIDA badge access
  • Ownership of required hand tools for the position
  • Willingness to travel on short notice within four hours of call out
  • Willingness to work any shift and in remote or challenging environments

Nature of Work

  • Perform work in accordance with written and verbal instructions
  • Complete all assigned tasks using approved maintenance procedures
  • Accurately record work performed and sign for completed maintenance
  • Use blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals to complete assigned duties
  • Troubleshoot, repair, modify, preserve, and maintain aircraft, aircraft systems, and components
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily operational needs

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders, work stands, and elevated platforms
  • Ability to work with one or both hands overhead
  • Correctable near and far vision
  • Ability to hear at conversational levels with or without hearing assistance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to handle small parts and safely operate hand tools
