Rutgers University Camden seeks an exceptionally skilled Website Strategist reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communications. The Website Strategist serves as a key architect of Rutgers-Camden's digital presence, managing the strategic planning, governance, and execution of the university's primary web platform. In this role, ensures the website reflects institutional priorities, meets accessibility and compliance standards, and delivers an intuitive, user-centered experience for prospective students, current students, faculty, staff, and community members.
The website strategist leads the development and implementation of web strategies across campus units, collaborating closely with academic departments, administrative offices, and central communications and IT partners to support a cohesive, secure, and modern digital ecosystem. This role provides technical oversight to ensure the site adheres to
WCAG 2.0 accessibility guidelines,
RCCL standards, and all required security and governance protocols. The website strategist also serves as a consultative and collaborative partner to campus units, offering guidance that mitigates institutional risk and ensures all campus websites maintain appropriate security controls and meet compliance expectations.
In addition, the Website Strategist offers expert consultation on content strategy and web governance, guiding departments in maintaining accurate, optimized, and mission-aligned web content. Through this advisory role, the strategist ensures campus content decisions align with institutional messaging, digital best practices, and established governance protocols. The position manages major web projects-including redesigns, platform migrations, and system integrations-and supervises the Web Content Specialist, providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to support high-quality digital communication across the institution. |

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Digital Communications, Information Technology or a related field or equivalent combo education and/or experience, plus a minimum of 5 yrs experience. |
