Qualifications
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field; and one (1) year of progressively responsible human resources experience that provides broad knowledge of human resources including classification, compensation plans, or payroll (e.g. pay accruals, retroactive pay, leave time, pay increases, etc.);
  • OR
    • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field, and five (5) additional years of progressively responsible human resources experience that provides broad knowledge of human resources including classification, compensation plans, or payroll (e.g., pay accruals, retroactive pay, leave time, pay increases, etc.), four (4) of which may substitute for the bachelor's degree.
  • Licenses or Certifications
    • Florida Notary Public Commission within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs administrative and technical support functions for the City's Human Resources Department.
  • Employees in this class are primarily responsible for research, development and preparation of position descriptions, compensation adjustments, surveys, reports and projects related to the Classification and Compensation Division.
  • Assists in ensuring all classification and compensation plans are structured and administered, to ensure employees are paid correctly.
  • Coordinates with Payroll as needed on changes to how employees are paid, in accordance with State and Federal wage and hour regulations, approved City ordinances, union bargaining agreements, administrative regulations, and past practices.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
