Intelligence Discipline Lead SME - Meteorological Analyst This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance. Cherokee Preting is seeking an Intelligence Discipline Lead SME to serve as a SME Meteorological Analyst. The Intelligence Discipline Lead SME will assist military meteorological technicians and other team members with fulfilling standard and specialized meteorological and oceanographic support requirements. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Intelligence Discipline Lead SME - Meteorological Analyst Responsibilities Include:
Plans, collects, verify, and disseminate a variety of atmospheric and geophysical data in support of the unique requirements of the Command and other designated agencies Plans and provides very complex and highly specialized atmospheric and oceanographic support to operations on post and off post (often at very remote sites) both CONUS and OCONUS Responsible for planning and establishing data collection, processing, and dissemination techniques and procedures for use in new or novel situations in order to meet warfighter requirements Resolves scheduling and planning problems Directs the work of assigned team members and serves as spokesman for the organization on technical matters Provides briefings, technical memoranda and periodic reports on data results obtained and conclusions on the application of new modified devices or techniques Writes coherent procedures and operating instructions to guide team members Responsible for preparing timely, accurate, and relevant operational weather impact assessments across the spectrum of military mission profiles based on specific weather threshold sensitivities and minimums for a multitude of different weapons systems Prepare detailed climatological impacts analysis in support of special operations Coordinates with using agencies to determine their requirements for forecasts and warning Reviews and verifies data prior to providing to the user Ensures completeness and accuracy and recognizes deficiencies or errors Determines causes and corrects on-the spot or recommends corrective action to the team chief Disseminates data to users in the desired format Provides post-test report to include recommended changes on equipment or procedures Coordinate weather support requirements with various civilian and military weather agencies to leverage all existing capabilities to ensure and improve the technical health of a leading edge operational meteorology center Responsible for training / mentoring other weather technicians in all facets of weather operations from technical/scientific to military operational domains Monitors and reviews training assignment to be performed by military personnel, established performance standards and tracks level of performance by military personnel Advises the Deputy Director and Director on administrative matters and training deficiencies Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Intelligence Discipline Lead SME - Meteorological Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
Current TS/SCI security clearance Minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing analytical intelligence related operations while serving in an Intelligence Task Force, National Intelligence Support Team, National Military Joint Intelligence Center or Combatant Command, or, a non-DoD equivalent IA operational community Minimum of five (5) years of operational analysis experience in their analytical field Experienced operational meteorologist and seasoned weather forecaster Extensive knowledge of data availability and procedures for obtaining the data from the various sources Demonstrated experience planning, collecting, verifying and disseminating a variety of atmospheric and geophysical data to support the unique requirements of the command and other designated agencies Expert knowledge and understanding of analytical theory, doctrine, rules, regulations, directives, systems, concepts, methodologies and relevant skills related to intelligence operations Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
