job purpose:

The Engineering Document Controllermanages andmaintainsthe controlled distribution and storage of all technical documentation throughout its lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and efficient retrieval for projectteams.

responsibilities:



  • Establish andmaintaindocument control systems for engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documentation using industry-standard document managementsoftware.


  • Review incoming engineering documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards andprocedures.


  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper document workflows, including revision control, distribution, andarchival.


  • Process engineering change requests andmaintainrevision histories for all technicaldocumentation.


  • Perform quality checks on electrical and mechanical drawings, ensuring adherence to relevant codes andstandards.


  • Manage the document numbering system andmaintainproper filing structures for easyretrieval.


  • Create and update document registers, transmittal records, and drawinglists.


  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients for document submissions andapprovals.


  • Support project handover activities by ensuring complete documentationpackages.


  • Train team members on document control procedures and best practices


  • Ensure project document control standards and issued documentation meets the contractrequirements.


  • Monitor changes to engineering drawings and update documentation as needed(P&ID's,DWGs, As-Bulits, etc.)


  • Assistsin creating new policies and procedures that deal with document storage, sharing, sending, and destruction.


skills/qualifications required:



  • Minimum of 5years' experiencein Document Control


  • Advanced level MS Office Suite including Word, Excel,PowerPointand Outlook


  • 5+years'AutoCADexperience


  • 5+ years' experience with Autodesk Vault


  • 5+ years'experiencewith engineering,architecture,facilityand construction documents (i.e., maps, drawings, technical specifications,P&ID's, As-Builts,etc.)


  • Strong communicationskills and understanding of technicalterminology.
