Your Opportunity as the Senior Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will partner with internal stakeholders to better understand their business needs, and will be responsible for dissecting business problems, proposing quantitative solutions, analyzing business partners' needs, and developing data driven solutions to improve and achieve business objectives.

Location: Working Remote USA

In this role you will:

  • Build advanced quantitative / statistical / machine learning algorithms and perform analyses on a variety of datasets to identify trends, patterns, correlation / causations and predict future business outcomes

  • Build and deploy prototype solutions to showcase ideas and proof of concepts and transition these prototype products to production according to company standards

  • Perform validation, testing, and documentation of newly developed predictive models. Assist in maintaining existing models and data product

  • Facilitate conversations and effectively communicate with team members and business partners. Involve others in decision making and take input from others when making complex decisions

  • Responsible for advancing relevant, informative, and user-friendly insights to help inform and influence strategic decisions across all our businesses

  • Become a subject matter expert and trusted adviser in data science

  • Mentor junior team members and foster an environment of learning and inclusion.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, or relevant field

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and applying Statistical/ML predictive methods

  • Proven experience conveying the results of complex analyses in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders

  • Deep understanding of statistical and machine learning approaches (both supervised and unsupervised) and application to business problems

  • Well versed in R and/or Python, with a deep understanding of relational data structures and SQL

  • Familiarity with Git for source control management

  • Experience in processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):

  • Master's degree

  • Experience processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data related to syndicated and POS data sources

  • Familiarity with BI / visualization tools (Tibco Spotfire, Power BI, Tableau)

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)

  • Experience with visualization frameworks & web development concepts (JS, HTML, CSS)

  • Familiarity with Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) and Retail
