Position Summary
We are seeking a research specialist to support the Serology Service Center's core molecular and serological assay activities. The successful candidate will contribute to basic and translational research projects involving protein expression and purification in mammalian and bacterial systems, as well as plate and cellular immunoassays. Experience with automation platforms such as Biomek i5, ViaFlo96, KingFisher Apex, and specialized equipment, including QuantStudio 6, BioPlex200, and Acta Pure FPLC, is required, or the ability to quickly learn these systems. Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, qPCR, ELISA, and flow cytometry is essential. We seek a motivated and enthusiastic researcher who demonstrates passion, creativity, strong organizational skills, and an interest in working in a highly collaborative environment.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with mammalian cell culture, ELISA, qPCR and Flow cytometry
Previous Lab experience
Excellent pipetting skills
Experience with Data analysis and inventory management
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong sense of teamwork
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Course work in Biology, Biochemistry, or other science-related field.
Prior experience in operating liquid handler
Previous work with flow cytometry, and bead-based assays
Laboratory operations management
Previous work experience with designing constructs
Demonstrated proficiency in standard cell and molecular biology techniques.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Familiarity with the operation of standard lab equipment and lab safety procedures.
Proficiency with web-based applications, databases, and Microsoft Excel, excellent organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
