Production Planner II

SLB has an immediate need for a Production Planner II in our Chemical Technologies Supply Chain group located in Sugar Land, TX. If you are a dedicated professional with a proven track record of success, we invite you to apply.

What You Will Do:

  • Run MRP efficiently and schedule production to meet customer order due dates.
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to ensure customer service levels, minimize production costs, and optimize product sequencing.
  • Review the hot sheet daily, update plant remarks, and apply late codes as needed to drive key performance metrics such as SIFOT, Reliability, Responsiveness, and Overall Performance.
  • Participate in alignment meetings with critical cross-functional teams to ensure schedule accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Provide daily status updates to internal and external stakeholders regarding open order exceptions, recommending re-planning actions to minimize non-conformances.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction and availability improvement initiatives.
  • Review process orders to confirm raw material availability prior to releasing to production.
  • Schedule bulk orders to meet on-time loading requirements.
  • Manage batch adjustments, including cancellations, reschedules, and modifications as needed.
  • Enter repacks and relabels for customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with the raw material planner to ensure timely material availability.
  • Lead scheduling for new product introductions and break-in batches.
  • Communicate daily with the production team on critical priorities, especially bulk loading needs.
  • Coordinate with tactical planning to prioritize schedules and meet customer commitments.
  • Work closely with the inventory team to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, supporting SLB's Goal Zero principles to continually improve safety, health, environmental performance, and compliance.
  • Promote a culture of safety by reporting observations and incidents promptly.
  • Support and uphold the Quality Improvement Process, ensuring error-free work and a "do it right the first time" mindset.
  • Identify and drive process improvement opportunities within the planning function to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in business, engineering, chemistry, or logistics, and or 5+ years of Planning experience
  • Knowledge of Scheduling & ERP systems, such as FST, and SAP
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Good at managing workloads and flexible with daily changes
  • Understanding the complexities of the supply chain and how to maneuver through the challenges
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP, FST, and Warehouse Management
  • Background in Production Scheduling
  • Basic knowledge of plant operations
