DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist Supervisor position within BCO, you will serve as the Section Administrator for Social Security, Supported Employment and Collaboration Section. Responsibilities involve directly supervising several vocational rehabilitation staff members and overseeing the success of related business services' statewide policies, programs, procedures, case management system requirements, and training to staff, providers, and stakeholders.


You will perform a full range of supervisory duties involving significant decision making for day-to-day personnel management to support your staff in their responsibilities for coordinating the Social Security Program including Social Security Reimbursement, Ticket to Work, and Supported Employment. Your duties will also include planning, developing, and implementing evaluative programs and projects to provide agency leadership with recommendations for making decisions and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of services for individuals with disabilities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to an approved headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of professional experience in the field of vocational rehabilitation including two years in a special disability or program area; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Graduate study in vocational rehabilitation may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
